I quilt because it stays done. That’s what I tell people who ask how I find the time to sew. I’m a stay at home, homeschooling mom to six children. My oldest just started high school and the youngest is almost ready for kindergarten. They are involved in sports, music, church, friends, and I spend lots of time driving, cooking, teaching, cleaning, and talking. Important things, but hard to hold in one’s hand and say “I did this”. So about 10 years ago, I started sewing…first skirts for me and dresses for my girls and then bags, purses and wallets and clothes for other people. Then I moved onto quilting, which I enjoyed, but I still didn’t feel that I’d really found a passion.
About three years ago (2011), I came across the modern quilting movement and I knew right off the bat, this was MY niche. Ever since then, I’ve been making quilts and giving them away and enjoying every minute. Well, not the minutes when I have a seam ripper in hand. Now I have the time to create not only quilts, but a blog to chronicle the process.
Thanks for visiting, I hope you like what you see.
